Residents First.

Always.

A collaborative leader, father, and entrepreneur focused on strong neighborhoods, thoughtful growth, and moving Hollywood forward.

Why I’m

running

I didn't decide to run because I spent years planning a political career.

I decided to run because I looked around the city I love and realized that too many residents feel disconnected from the decisions shaping its future.

Like many people, I assumed public service was something reserved for political insiders, longtime board members, or those with the right connections. But over time, I came to believe that our city needs something more: people willing to step forward because they care deeply about their community and are ready to serve.

As a father, business owner, school founder and operator, and longtime Hollywood resident, I've spent my career solving problems, building organizations, managing budgets, and bringing people together around a common purpose. Those experiences taught me that good leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about listening, asking thoughtful questions, and making decisions that put people first.

I'm running because I believe public service shouldn't require permission. It shouldn't be limited to those already inside the system.

It should be open to residents who love their city, want to contribute, and are willing to do the work.

Hollywood has incredible potential. My goal is simple: to help ensure that as our city grows and evolves, residents and small businesses remain at the center of every decision.

That's why I'm running. Not for a title. Not for a political career. But because this is our home, and I believe it's worth stepping up for.

Meet David

David Raskind isn’t a career politician—he’s a neighbor, a father, and a small-business owner who has spent years investing in the families and future of Hollywood. For the past many years, his work in education has been guided by one simple mission: creating communities and environments where families and children can thrive.

Through his work in the community and local organizations, David has worked closely with residents and understands the everyday needs of families. These experiences have shaped his belief that strong communities are built when residents are engaged and at the center of decision-making. David is running for City Commissioner in District 3 to bring practical, collaborative leadership and keep Hollywood moving forward for the families and neighborhoods that call it home.

Residents First Approach

I believe every decision at City Hall should start with one simple question: Is this good for the people who live here?

Putting residents first means making sure our neighborhoods, our families, and our voices are at the center of every decision — especially right here in District 3.

ON THE ISSUES

  • Every resident deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, parks, and public spaces. Public safety starts with supporting our police, firefighters, and first responders while also investing in safer streets, better lighting, pedestrian safety, and proactive neighborhood improvements.

  • Hollywood should feel clean, welcoming, vibrant, and cared for in every neighborhood. Investing in beautification, parks, landscaping, and public spaces helps strengthen community pride, improve quality of life, and make our city more enjoyable for residents and visitors.

  • Growth must be planned responsibly and with residents at the center of the conversation. I support smart development that strengthens our city while protecting neighborhood character, improving infrastructure, and preserving the quality of life that makes Hollywood special.

  • As Hollywood grows, we must invest in the infrastructure residents rely on every day. Roads, drainage, sidewalks, water systems, and traffic planning all directly impact our daily lives and require long-term, responsible planning.

  • Hollywood has the opportunity to create vibrant neighborhood business districts that residents & visitors can truly enjoy and support. By investing in local businesses, improving walkability, and revitalizing commercial corridors, we can strengthen our local economy while enhancing the character of our city.

  • Families are the heart of our community. Hollywood should continue investing in parks, playgrounds, recreational programs, and public spaces that bring residents together and create opportunities for future generations to thrive.

  • Residents deserve leadership that listens, communicates openly, and makes decisions transparently. Better outcomes happen when residents are genuinely included in the process and City Hall remains accountable to the people it serves.
